Linear and compound

Calculator

Estimate a linear or compound result from capital, a daily rate, and a number of days. Running it does not change your balance. Actual trading can be lower, flat, or a loss. Past examples do not predict future results. Capital is at risk.

The account window is $50 to $10,000. Amounts outside that window still calculate, and the result says so.

Pick a poster-style rate or type your own, including 0 and negative rates, so a flat day or a loss is visible.

Whole days from 1 to 3,650. 365 is one year, not a prediction.

Gain in this simple calculation

Simple (linear). Each day adds the same dollar amount.

Change

$182.50

Total $232.50

Formula: change = capital × (daily rate ÷ 100) × days. Plug-in: $50.00 × (1 ÷ 100) × 365 = $182.50. Total = $50.00 + ($182.50) = $232.50.

These inputs match example 1 on the overview: $0.50 added each day. That pattern will not happen in real markets. About $228 is a rough approximation of the $232.50 total.

This calculator is not a projection of Larney Coin performance. Actual trading can be lower, flat, or a loss. Past examples do not predict future results. Capital is at risk.

Simple (linear)

Change = capital × (daily rate ÷ 100) × days. Each day adds the same dollar amount. Earlier days are not folded back into the capital.

Compound

Total = capital × (1 + daily rate ÷ 100) raised to the number of days. Change = that total minus the starting capital. A constant rate every day will not happen in real markets.

Try 0% and a negative rate. Losses are part of the picture. Read the worked examples.
